Our aim at Silkwood is to provide quality affordable childcare. The setting is on one level, open plan and air-conditioned which is both secure and safe.

Our Staff

The children are cared for by Criminal Record Bureau checked; trained, experienced, caring staff who work as a team to ensure the children receive the benefit of this expertise. The manager and individual staff members responsible for each room are qualified to a minimum NVQ level 3 or recognized equivalent. The ratio of staff to children as identified by OFSTED’s care standards is regarded as the minimum and will always be exceeded. Children are encouraged to develop responsibility for themselves and their actions whilst also learning to work and play with others.

The nursery operates a key worker system, where each child is allotted a key worker to whom he or she together with its parents can relate.
